Who we are

The PASS coalition includes students and families from Sac City Unified, community-based organizations, labor unions, business organizations, as well as numerous civic leaders all determined to elevate the voices of students and families and to breaking the cycle of dysfunction at our school district.

Over the past several years, SCUSD has faced numerous major financial and administrative challenges, resulting in educational inequity for students across the district, particularly students that are poor and students of color. The district is the only in the state to never adopt a distance learning plan and is now poised to be the last in the state to finalize its plans to reopen. These are just the latest examples of the dysfunction and tension that has defined the district for decades.
